Elle partage sa perception sur diff\u00e9rents th\u00e8mes comme l\u2019immigration et nous pr\u00e9sente son centre d\u2019art \u00ab Raw Material Company \u00bb ainsi que les projets qui y sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s. Koyo Kouoh analyse les diff\u00e9rentes mutations dans le paysage artistique en Afrique depuis les ind\u00e9pendances. Elle met \u00e9galement en lumi\u00e8re les d\u00e9fis et les opportunit\u00e9s des artistes africains contemporains. Cette envie de servir et de soigner fait partie de la mission du commissariat d\u2019exposition. Il y a une sorte de lien. Dans l\u2019\u00e9tymologie du mot commissaire d\u2019exposition en anglais, curator, il y a le mot cura, qui veut dire soigner.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Sur les migrations<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">Que ce soient des migrations volontaires ou non, l\u2019\u00eatre humain a toujours besoin d\u2019ailleurs et cet ailleurs l\u2019\u00e9largit, le construit, le nourrit et l\u2019inspire. Toutes les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s se sont construites et de mani\u00e8re endog\u00e8ne et de mani\u00e8re exog\u00e8ne, en absorbant ce qui vient d\u2019ailleurs. Tout cela est fondamental \u00e0 la vie humaine. Et c\u2019est tout \u00e0 fait normal que les gens soient en mouvement.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Sur le projet Raw Material Company<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">Raw Material Company est un lieu de d\u00e9bat, de production, de promotion, de construction de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Il est tr\u00e8s important d\u2019aller au-del\u00e0 de la personne, surtout en art, et dans les choses de l\u2019esprit en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. J\u2019aimerai contribuer \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de structures qui elles-m\u00eames se tiennent et \u00e0 travers lesquelles diff\u00e9rentes personnes peuvent passer. Il s\u2019agissait aussi avoir un outil d\u2019action pour pouvoir se mettre sur le m\u00eame pied d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 que beaucoup d\u2019interlocuteurs avec qui je travaillais, mais aussi pour pouvoir former d\u2019autres personnes.<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Sur le choix du nom \u00ab Raw Material Company \u00bb<br \/>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default\"><div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">En pensant cette structure, il \u00e9 tait important pour moi qu\u2019il n\u2019y ait pas de redondance. Je voulais aller au-del\u00e0 des \u00e9vidences. Il \u00e9tait important que la d\u00e9nomination ait, dans son contenu, des \u00e9l\u00e9ments artistiques et qu\u2019il n\u2019y ait pas le mot Afrique mais que le contenu de la d\u00e9nomination se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019Afrique. Je voulais y transmettre aussi un esprit de collectivit\u00e9 et de partage. Enfin, je voulais aussi inclure un mot africain. RAW, en wolof, veut dire pionnier, premier en avant.
