Tout en montrant que les femmes qui sont plus nombreuses que les hommes sur la plan\u00e8te n\u2019occupent pas une place envieuse, l\u2019auteur cherche \u00e0 d\u00e9crire les causes qui emp\u00eachent la gent f\u00e9minine \u00e0 \u00e9merger et \u00e0 \u00eatre v\u00e9ritablement \u00e9gale de l\u2019homme.<\/p>\n<p>Pour y parvenir, il consid\u00e8re la place de la femme non seulement en Afrique mais aussi dans le monde. Il d\u00e9montre que dans la plupart des pays, au Nord comme au Sud, \u00e0 l\u2019Ouest comme \u00e0 l\u2019Est, dans les pays dits d\u00e9mocratiques et dans les pays tyranniques, les femmes ont longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 exclues de la jouissance des droits politiques qui ne remontent pour elles qu\u2019au d\u00e9but du XXe si\u00e8cle. Parmi les raisons qui expliquent cette absence des femmes dans le domaine du leadership, il s\u2019attarde sur le mod\u00e8le patriarcal de l\u2019autorit\u00e9 v\u00e9cue dans l\u2019enfance, le poids des traditions ancestrales port\u00e9es sur le primat du masculin. Il y a aussi le poids des religions \u00e0 travers le temps o\u00f9 le proph\u00e8te a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 un homme, sans oublier les rapports de force \u00e0 cause du caract\u00e8re phallocentrique qui domine dans l\u2019ar\u00e8ne politique et le poids de la langue qui est plus au service de l\u2019homme que de la femme. La femme a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9e au sexe faible alors que c\u2019est elle qui donne la vie.<\/p>\n<p>Cet article se limite \u00e0 la sph\u00e8re publique, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire au leadership politique et n\u2019aborde pas la probl\u00e9matique du management du secteur priv\u00e9 o\u00f9 les femmes ont une influence certaine. Les difficult\u00e9s que rencontrent les femmes africaines en mati\u00e8re de leadership sont aussi rencontr\u00e9es par les femmes occidentales. \u00c0 quelques exceptions, toutes les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 et continuent d\u2019\u00eatre r\u00e9gies par les m\u00eames assignations de genre . En Afrique, les \u00e9tudes approfondies sur la litt\u00e9rature f\u00e9ministe sont rares. Cet article est un d\u00e9but d\u2019exploration du sujet.
